Aidclimb 2019: New Venue, Same Great Cause

Aidclimb 2019 is shaping up to be the best one yet!

It is our mission to bring awareness to the challenges that veterans face when returning from service and raise money for wounded veterans in need. For those who have sacrificed their well-being in the service of our country we welcome them home, thank them and provide an ongoing network of support. One step at a time we venture toward a positive impact.

In the last year, we have established MountainStrong, Incorporated – a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. This is the new, tax-deductible, home of AidClimb. All registration fees and sponsorships may have tax benefits as a result. The board has been hard at work planning Aidclimb and our efforts are far more coordinated, organized and hopefully fruitful this year and beyond.

We have partnered with Northeast Mountaineering who will assist and supervise the hiking portion to maximize our safety and have designated Boston Wounded Vet Run and Hope For The Warriors as our beneficiaries. Both organizations are doing tremendous work for wounded veterans and their families in New England and beyond.
 

We are thrilled to announce some changes for this years event as we attempt to make it more accessible and increase participation.

1. Mount Monadnock: instead of hiking Mount Washington as we have in years past, we have moved our location to Jaffery, New Hampshire. Mt. Monadnock is one of the best hikes in all of New England. It is shorter with magnificent views. Most importantly, it is conveniently located in southern New Hampshire. We look forward to hiking with you again this year and hope that you bring a friend or five with you. We have replaced the fundraising platform through fundly with a one-time donation of $75pp to streamline the process. Dinner is included with your registration donation.
2. Golf Tournament: we proudly introduce the Aidclimb Golf Tournament hosted at The Shattuck Golf Club! Located at the base of Mt. Monadnock, this picturesque course has been named in the top 100 visually stunning in America. The tournament will be a four-person scramble format tournament with a cash prize, cash bar and on-course contests. You may register as an individual or a team of four. The cost is $100pp and included dinner and entry into the afterparty.
3. The Honor Role Project: Engaging students to Support Wounded Veterans and their families. In history class we learn about conflict; starting with the American Revolution to the World Wars through today’s global issues with terrorism. We discuss the causes in great detail but often fail to address the effects. There are hundreds of thousands of American soldiers who have died or are wounded in the name of service. Their dedication to freedom is unparelleled. But, the wounds of war are real and expensive. Our soldiers experience physical and mental ramifications for putting their bodies and lives on the line to protect the American liberties that we enjoy daily. It is time to step up. welcome home our wounded veterans, and honor their sacrifices. This is the Honor Role Project.

   Finding direction in a time of discovery. High school is a time of self-discovery and exploration. Beyond curriculum we learn much about ourselves, others, the world and more in the four precious years of high school. We explore. We try new things. We make mistakes. We learn. The Honor Role Project is an opportunity for teenagers to make a positive contribution to the lives of our wounded veterans. It is also an opportunity to learn about philanthropy, doing the right things for no other reason, to find confidence through success and to collaborate toward a common goal. We are in the planning stages to introduce an adventure race as a lead up to Aidclimb. This will happen in the Mount Washington Valley so if you’re interested please keep an eye out as we roll out details and plan on a mid-summer date!
